The Perth Scorchers have named a squad of 13 for Sunday night’s BIG FINAL rematch against the Sydney Sixers at the SCG.
Opener Shaun Marsh has been named in the side after missing Wednesday night’s loss to the Melbourne Stars due to a minor hamstring strain. Fast bowler Alfonso Thomas is also set to make his debut with the Scorchers after the South African-born recruit arrived in Perth earlier this week.
Out of the Scorchers squad from the Stars encounter are pace duo Ben Edmondson and Jason Behrendorff.
It is the first meeting between the Scorchers and Sixers since the battle to decide the inaugural KFC T20 Big Bash League champions at The Furnace last January, which the Sixers won by seven wickets.
Scorchers Head Coach Justin Langer said: “Any team that has players of the calibre of Shaun Marsh and Alfonso Thomas added to it will be a better team and we are thrilled to welcome Shaun back and very excited to have Alfonso in the side.
“Obviously we have not had the start to this tournament that we were hoping for, but I am sure everyone is very keen to bounce back and play the cricket that we know we are capable of, starting this Sunday.”
Play commences on Sunday at 4pm Perth time, with live and exclusive coverage available through Fox Sports and ABC Local Radio and Grandstand Digital.
Perth fans are encouraged to head to the Grosvenor Hotel, 339 Hay St in East Perth, to watch the game live.
