Perth Scorchers fast bowler Andrew Tye took a hat-trick and five-wicket haul on his IPL debut, while Nathan Coulter-Nile returned after eight months out with injury.
In the IPL, after two seasons sitting on the sidelines, Tye finally debuted and impressed as Gujarat Lions defeated Rising Pune Supergiant on Friday night.
Tye took 5-17 from four overs including the wicket of $2.8 million man Ben Stokes and a hat-trick.
Tye claimed his hat-trick with the first three deliveries of the final over as Gujarat kept Pune to 8-171, which they chased down with two overs to spare.
He was in action again two days later, taking 2-34 from four overs as Gujarat lost to the Mumbai Indians.
Elsewhere, Nathan Coulter-Nile returned to action after a long-term back injury and impressed as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated his former side Delhi Daredevils.
Coulter-Nile, who played at the expense of Trent Boult, took 3-22 from four overs and had two other chances dropped.
He also impressed at the death, dismissing key man Rishabh Pant and conceding only five runs in the 19th over.
Meanwhile in England’s County Championship, Cameron Bancroft made 32 from 54 balls and took two catches as Gloucestershire crushed Leicestershire by an innings and six runs.
