Scorchers Launch WBBL-Aligned T20 Blast Centres

31 January 2017

The Perth Scorchers have launched three exclusive MILO T20 Blast centres, each aligned to a WBBL|02 player.

A trio of Perth Scorchers WBBL|02 heroes are preparing to work with the next generation of cricketers, helping to guide potential teammates on the path to cricketing success.

All-girls MILO T20 Blast centres at Huntingdale, Joondalup and Swan View have been linked to Piepa Cleary, Heather Graham and Chloe Piparo, respectively, with the players set to attend four of the program sessions.

The exciting initiative will enable first-time and returning T20 Blast participants to engage with the players and receive expert tuition.

Girls who sign-up for a centre aligned to either of the WBBL players will also receive a Bonus Participant Pack, which includes a hat, backpack and shirt, with the latter emboldened with the respective Scorchers' name.

Chloe Piparo, who earlier in the season scored a century for her State in the 50-over WNCL, said she was excited to be aligned with the Swan View program.

"We now know that girls have a strong pathway to progress through and, with the profile of the WBBL, the future is bright," Piparo said.

"Being a part of this program is something I am looking forward to and I want these young girls to love the game as much as I do."

The program will be a homecoming of sorts for Heather Graham, with the talented all-rounder playing her junior cricket at Joondalup-Kinross Junior Cricket Club, which will host the program at its home ground.

"I was fortunate to have some great coaches in junior cricket, and I hope to be able to help these young girls at the start of their cricket journey," Graham said.
