Blaze, Amber and a trio of Perth Scorchers players will this weekend help launch PlayCricket Week with a free, fun-filled event for fans and families.
The Scorchers will descend on Ellenbrook Secondary College Oval on Saturday from 1-4pm, bringing the Scorchers Bus, inflatable nets, a sausage sizzle and a range of activities to celebrate the launch of cricket’s national participation program.
PlayCricket is the sport’s annual registration awareness campaign, with the Ellenbrook event launching a week of clinics and school visits by Scorchers staff and players across the metro area to help usher in an exciting and historical summer of cricket for WA.
Scorchers fast bowlers Joel Paris and Jason Behrendorff will be joined by WBBL all-rounder Heather Graham at the event, mingling with fans, before taking part in the MILO T20 Blast pop-up skills session for boys and girls aged 7-12 years.
Cricket fanatic and local member Hon Christian Porter MP will also be on hand to help launch the week’s celebrations.
The Ellenbrook event marks the beginning of a lively week for the Scorchers, with the Club aiming to visit about 200 schools across the metro area in just five days, bringing with it the excitement of the W/BBL season ahead.
You can find out more information and register your interest in attending at the Scorchers’ Facebook page.
PlayCricket's regional campaign will kick off with an event in Leschenault on Saturday 19 August, running through most of September.
