There’s no shortage of contenders to win the WBBL|02 Player of the Year which will be crowned at Friday’s Laurie Sawle Medal Night at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Heather Graham, Elyse Villani, Katherine Brunt, Suzie Bates, Nicole Bolton, Piepa Cleary and Emma King are all among the contenders to take home the award.
English import Brunt was the inaugural winner of the award, which is voted by players and coaches on a 3-2-1 basis after every match.
Graham scored 239 runs at 29.87 and took 10 wickets bowling at the death with an economy rate of 6.81.
Villani posted 442 runs including five half-centuries at 29.46, top scoring with 74.
Brunt took 10 wickets with an economy rate of 5.55 and chipped in with 216 runs at a strike rate of 132.51.
Skipper Bates made 310 runs with two half-centuries and took 13 wickets and five catches.
Bolton posted 324 runs at an average of 24.92 including a top score of 53.
Cleary claimed 11 wickets bowling up top with an outstanding average of 11.90 and economy rate of 5.24.
King had a breakout season with 17 dismissals with her off-spin, with an average of 19.88 and economy of 5.92.
