Coulter-Nile is an explosive all-rounder, with electric pace and big-hitting ability. The right-armer has represented Australia at T20 International and One-Day International levels and has been close to a Test debut in recent times, before a cruel run of injuries.
Coulter-Nile was deadly with the ball in the inaugural KFC T20 Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers, finishing third in the team’s wicket-takers with 10 for the season, despite missing the opening two games with injury. He began to emerge as a genuine all-rounder a year later and was named man of the match for a 23 not out from just six balls in a crucial win over Brisbane Heat, leading to his national selection in Australia’s T20 clash against the West Indies and his later inclusion in the 2013 Champions Trophy squad. Coulter-Nile’s rising form had the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals baulk at his reserve price of US$100k for the 2013 Indian Premier League, engaging in a bidding war that resulted in his final price-tag of US$450k.
