Intro
Born and raised in Perth, where he grew up playing ‘Test’ matches in his Mullaloo backyard with younger brother David, Mike Hussey is one of the finest cricket talents to emerge from this city.
The man affectionately known as Mr Cricket is the ultimate professional on and off the field, and has starred in recent years for the Australian side after being a prolific run-scorer for WA and in English county cricket.
Hussey is also an accomplished T20 batsman, starring for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. Commitments with the Australian Test team restricted Hussey to just one outing with the Scorchers in BBL|01. While it is likely international duty will limit the champion WA cricketer’s appearances in 2012-13, his experience in T20 at national and domestic level is valuable to the squad.
