Triffitt moved from Tasmania to Western Australia in July 2012 to cement his place as the Warriors' and Perth Scorchers' number one gloveman after being the understudy to Tim Paine in Hobart. Triffitt played in Australia's victorious 2010 ICC Under-19 World Cup, where he scored 117 runs at a handy average of 29.25, including a vital 50 in the semi-final win over Sri Lanka. He also finished with the most dismissals in the competition (17). Triffitt was upgraded from his Tasmanian Tigers rookie contract for the 2010-11 season and made his first class debut later that summer following an injury to Paine. He has since played in two Sheffield Shield finals, including the 2010-11 win, and a RYOBI Cup play-off, meaning he brings big game experience to the west. Triffitt played eight matches for the Perth Scorchers in BBL|02, but failed to fire with the bat, before losing his place in the side to makeshift keeper Mike Hussey late in the campaign.
Tom is a clever batsman and a quality gloveman who will inspire and ignite the Scorchers this season.
