Perth Scorchers fans will be able to catch their side in action from Friday, with streaming details confirmed for the upcoming Top End T20 Series in Darwin.
How to Watch the 2025 Top End T20 Series
In a landmark development for the competition, 7plus will broadcast a daily feature game as well as the whole finals series on 24 August. Cricket Australia, meanwhile, will show the remaining games on its YouTube channel.
Embarking on their second Top End T20 campaign, the Scorchers have selected a 14-player squad of KFC BBL, WA and WA Cricket Academy players to face teams from Australia, Asia and America, starting with Chicago Kingsmen on Friday 15 August.
The travelling party is headlined by power hitter Nick Hobson, opener Sam Fanning and pace bowlers Matt Kelly and Bryce Jackson, all of whom hold Scorchers contracts for BBL|15.
Reigning Laurie Sawle medallist Corey Rocchiccioli will have an important role to play in conditions that typically favour spin, teaming up with allrounder Matthew Spoors and leg-spinner Luke Holt.
A wrist-spinner who bats in the middle-order, Spoors played five games for the Scorchers during BBL|14 after an impressive 2024 Top End T20 tournament.
Jayden Goodwin, Teague Wyllie and allrounder Keaton Critchell have an opportunity to showcase their attacking traits with the bat, likewise Rod Marsh Wicketkeeping Academy graduate Joel Curtis and fellow WA gloveman Baxter Holt.
Former Melbourne Stars quick Brody Couch offers BBL experience and genuine pace, which he used to great effect across formats during his maiden season for WA in 2024-25.
Meanwhile, teenaged firebrand Albert Esterhuysen is set to be unleashed for the first time since joining WA on a rookie contract in the off-season.
The Scorchers have not named a standalone captain, instead opting to share leadership responsibilities throughout the squad.
WA and Perth Scorchers Senior Assistant Tim MacDonald (Head Coach) and WA Cricket Male Programs Development Coach Travis Birt (Assistant Coach) will mentor the side.
MacDonald believes the players will benefit from testing themselves in conditions they wouldn't usually face in WA.
“From a cricket standpoint, it’s a good opportunity to expose a few of the younger players from WA who may not have played T20 cricket at this level before," MacDonald said.
“The conditions are a little different to Perth with lower and slower wickets, so it provides the whole squad with a different challenge which we’re looking to embrace.
“In terms of the squad we've picked, we there’s a nice balance between contracted Scorchers and talented state and academy players."
The WA Cricket Men's bowling coach was also full of praise for the way NT Cricket has grown the competition.
“We had our first taste of the Top End T20 series as a franchise last season and loved it. NT Cricket do a fantastic job, and the tournament is clearly gaining momentum," he said.
"It’s an exciting time of year, and we’re looking forward to flying up there in a few weeks.”
This year’s tournament features 11 international and domestic outfits, including teams from Big Bash franchises Hobart Hurricanes, Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades and the Scorchers.
Hosts NT Strike and ACT Comets will represent their respective territories, while Pakistan Shaheens (Pakistan A), Bangladesh A, Nepal and Chicago Kingsmen are gearing up for a stint on Australian soil.
The Scorchers have one local list spot to fill before launching BBL|15 against Sydney Sixers at Optus Stadium on Sunday 14 December.
