Harvey & Walters Appointed Assistant Coaches

The Scorchers have made two appointments following Adam Griffith's move to Tasmania.

Kade Harvey and Stewart Walters have been appointed as Assistant Coaches of the Perth Scorchers effective immediately.

Former WA all-rounder Harvey, 41, has worked as a part-time Assistant Coach with the Scorchers since BBL|02 but now moves into a full-time position with the Alcohol.Think Again Western Warriors too.

In addition to his Assistant Coach role with both the Scorchers and Warriors, Harvey will lead the male pace bowling program and will also be the Head Coach of WA’s male Under-17’s team.

The two-time Olly Cooley Medal winner had a decorated playing career for WA, playing 27 first class matches and 86 List A matches, including three titles, before retiring in 2005.

Harvey was a State Selector from 2007 and 2010 and has served on the WACA Board since 2014.

Following the appointment, Harvey will be stepping down from his position on the WACA Board.

Walters has also been elevated to Assistant Coach of the Warriors and Scorchers.

Walters will continue to be Head Coach of WA’s male Under-19’s team having led them to success at the 2016-17 National Championships.

The appointments come following Adam Griffith’s departure earlier this month to be Tasmania’s head coach.
