The Perth Scorchers suffered the third loss of their 2021-22 KFC Big Bash League campaign this morning, when the Adelaide Strikers triumphed by six wickets and secured the Jason Gillespie Trophy at Adelaide Oval.

Moments That Mattered

- Fast Bowler David Moody became the Scorchers’ latest debutant, earning his cap after allrounder Ashton Agar withdrew from proceedings before play with a shoulder complaint.

- English Import Laurie Evans batted nicely at first drop, notching up 39 runs from 31 balls.

- Captain Ashton Turner struck a few powerful boundaries during his 15-ball 28, combining with Evans to produce a brisk 48-run third-wicket stand.

- Rising allrounder Aaron Hardie stood tall in trying circumstances with the ball, collecting career-best figures of 3-31 from four overs. His contribution ignited Perth’s hopes of defending their 127-run total.

- Peter Hatzoglou was also effective, taking the key scalp of in-form Adelaide opener Matt Short to finish with 1-24 from four tidy overs. His efforts helped Perth secure the Bash Boost point.
The Scorchers will finish their regular season campaign against the Brisbane Heat at Marvel Stadium on Monday night.

Victory in that match would ensure Perth finish atop the standings leading into the BBL|11 finals series.
