The Perth Scorchers KFC Big Bash League clash against the Melbourne Stars at Marvel Stadium has been postponed.

The League advised the Scorchers this afternoon that a member of the Melbourne Stars support team received a positive COVID-19 test result and the full team and staff are currently awaiting results in self-isolation.

The League will advise a new date for the match as soon as possible.

The League and the Perth Scorchers will continue to prioritise the safety of all players, match officials, staff, fans and the wider community throughout the KFC BBL|11 season.

Adam Voges, Perth Scorchers Head Coach said:

“From a cricketing perspective, we’re obviously disappointed not to be playing tonight, but the health and well-being of everyone involved is our priority.” Voges said.

“This incident also reinforces how much our players and staff have sacrificed to be here.

“We’ll keep our minds on the task at hand, readjust over the next couple of days and prepare for whatever comes next.”
