The Perth Scorchers have announced one change to their 13-player squad for their rebel Women’s Big Bash League match against Sydney Thunder tomorrow at the WACA Ground.

Local hard-hitting batter Amy Edgar comes into the side as a local replacement player for Piepa Cleary.

Cleary underwent surgery for a fractured leg last week and has been ruled out for the rest of the WBBL tournament.

Scorchers Head Coach Lisa Keightley said it’s exciting to be able to give Amy an opportunity in the WBBL set-up.

“Amy has worked really hard on her game during her time in the Western Australia Women’s program and she’s progressed really well,” Keightley said.

“She knows a lot of the girls in the team and I’m looking forward to seeing what she can do for us in the back half of the tournament.”

The Scorchers will be looking to secure another win in front of fans at home following their back-to-back victories in Adelaide over the weekend.
