Perth Scorchers players Piepa Cleary, Heather Graham and Elyse Villani joined players from the other seven WBBL Clubs for a series of media engagements, including striking vision of the players hitting chalk-filled cricket balls that exploded in the vivid colours of the teams.
Scorchers captain Elyse Villani said the launch captured the excitement the players were feeling ahead of this weekend’s opening round.
“It was good fun and it was nice to see all the girls in the other teams and it was a fantastic way to kick off the season,” Villani said.
“The season has come around really quickly, but we’re looking forward to getting stuck into it.
“The girls have had really good preparation this week in our two practice matches against the Sixers and the Renegades.
“We’re really looking forward to playing our first game against the Heat, hopefully securing the win.”
The Scorchers open their WBBL campaign on Sunday when they the take on the Brisbane Heat at North Sydney Oval.
