Perth Scorchers have locked in exciting quick Brody Couch to complete its squad for the upcoming KFC BBL|15 season.
Couch Completes Scorchers Squad
Having played 18 games for Melbourne Stars across three seasons, Couch adds further firepower to a potent Scorchers pace bowling unit.
The 25-year-old took 19 wickets in 18 appearances for the Stars, including a three-wicket haul against Hobart in BBL|11.
Couch joined the WA men’s team at the start of season 2024-25 and became a key part of the side’s Sheffield Shield bowling attack, taking 23 wickets in seven matches at 25.65.
In signing the speedster, the Scorchers have continued an enormous week leading into its Weber WBBL|11 season-opener against fierce rivals Sydney Sixers at the WACA Ground on Sunday.
Perth Scorchers General Manager – High Performance, Kade Harvey said Couch would strengthen the side's fast-bowling depth.
“Brody has been a tremendous addition to our men’s program since he moved to WA, both as a player and teammate, and we are delighted to be able to sign him for what is set to be an exciting campaign," Harvey said.
“With the injury to Lance Morris, we felt it was important to bolster our fast-bowling stocks and we are confident Brody can play a key role through the tournament.
“We feel Brody’s skillset will be well suited to the conditions at Optus Stadium, and we’re confident we’ll see his talents on display.”
Couch said there was plenty to be excited about playing in orange.
"Perth Scorchers fans are the most loyal and passionate in the competition," Couch said.
"Playing alongside my teammates in front of the members and fans at Optus Stadium is an exciting prospect."
