Mooney, King Shine in the West Indies

They may have left the west coast shores of Australia, but that hasn't stopped Perth Scorchers stars Alana King and Beth Mooney from shining in the recent T20 International matches in the Caribbean Islands.

Australia took on the West Indies in three T20Is, all played at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, winning each of the three matches in a series whitewash.

A standout with the ball, King finished the series being named Player of the Series after taking five wickets across three matches.

The leg-spinner produced some beautiful spells with the ball, bouncing back from being dropped from the Australian T20 side that took on India on Australian shores earlier this year.

Not to be forgotten, power hitter Mooney finished up the second for most runs for the series totaling 107 runs to go with being named player of the match in game one.

The pair now turn their minds towards the upcoming One Day International series against the same Caribbean opponents, which will be played in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

King and Mooney will hope to secure their spots ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup which will be held in England and Wales in June this year.
