Perth Scorchers have secured the returning signature of power hitter Freya Kemp, in a major boost to their Weber WBBL|12 campaign.
Kemp to return to the West
The English international returns to the club after making a strong impression during her debut season in orange, bringing her dynamic hitting and international experience back to Perth for the upcoming summer.
The 21-year-pold has already established herself on the international stage, representing England in the Women's One Day International and T20 formats and earning a reputation as one of the most exciting young players in world cricket.
During the ECB Women’s One-Day Cup, Kemp has been in roaring form, making 149 runs over three digs.
Kemp also is coming off the back of being part of England’s squad who were defeated by Australia in the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, where she scored 44 not out from 28 balls.
A powerful left-handed batter, Kemp adds further depth and versatility to the Scorchers squad as the Clubs presses for its second title.
Perth Scorchers General Manager Kade Harvey said retaining Kemp was a significant signing for the Club.
“Freya made a strong impact during her time with us last season and we’re delighted to welcome her back to Scorchers for Weber WBBL|12,” he said.

Kemp said she is thrilled to be returning to Perth and reconnecting with her teammates and Scorchers Members and Fans.
“I loved my time with the Scorchers last season, and I’m really excited to be coming back for another year,” she said.
“The group was incredibly welcoming from day one and it was a fantastic environment to be part of, both on and off the field.
