Perth Scorchers are thrilled to announce Sophie Devine has recommitted to the squad on a one-year deal.

One of the most accomplished players in world cricket, Devine will return to Perth for her seventh season with Perth Scorchers in a playing capacity, bringing with her a wealth of experience and leadership in the field.
One of the game’s great allrounders, Devine has been a standout performer throughout her international career, representing New Zealand in more than 300 matches across all formats.
Having recently retired from all three formats of international cricket, Devine is hoping to be at her destructive best from the start off the season after rehabbing a calf injury she sustained in August during The Hundred.
Perth Scorchers General Manager Kade Harvey said it’s fantastic to welcome back Devine into the ranks for WBBL|12.
“Sophie has been an integral part of the Scorchers family for a number of years, and we’re delighted she’ll be back in orange again this season,” he said.
“Her experience, leadership and ability to influence games in crucial moments make her one of the premier players in world cricket and a hugely valuable member of our squad.
“Sophie is invested in the Club and our people, and her commitment to returning speaks volumes about the environment we’re continuing to build at the Scorchers.”
Devine said she was excited to be returning to Perth and reconnecting with her teammates, Members and fans.
“I’m passionate about playing for the Scorchers and I’m feeling really grateful to have resigned for another year,” she said.
“It was disappointing not to go all the way last year but looking forward to hopefully pushing one step further.
“We’ve got a great core group of players, a strong mix of local talent alongside some exciting overseas players, and I’m confident we can continue to grow as a team again this year.
“The support we’ve got at the WACA Ground is second to none from the Furnace days to now with the new redevelopment, we can’t wait to play in front of our home Members and fans, getting behind us.”
Perth Scorchers have now signed 10 players for the upcoming Weber WBBL|12 season with five spots five spots left to fill.
