Four Perth Scorchers players have been named in the Australian Cricketers’ Association Big Bash League All*Star Team of the Year.
The BBL|04 champions had the strongest representation of any club, despite only having one member selected last year despite also lifting the title then.
Michael Klinger, Jason Behrendorff, Andrew Tye and Brad Hogg were named in the 12-man squad on Tuesday morning.
Klinger, who joined the Scorchers from the Adelaide Strikers ahead of BBL|04, was named Vice Captain of the side.
The veteran batsman topped the scoring charts in BBL|04 with 326 runs at an average of 36.22, including a memorable century on Boxing Day against the Melbourne Renegades.
Behrendorff, who was named ACA BBL Player of the Year last week, was the second leading wicket-taker in BBL|04 with 15 scalps.
Tye proved a revelation with 14 wickets including a heroic performance with 4-18 in the semi-final win over the Melbourne Stars.
Hogg missed the first four games with injury, but took seven wickets in six games, with a stunning economy rate of 5.33.
Meanwhile, Klinger along with Scorchers pair Adam Voges (as captain) and Shaun Marsh were named in the Four-Day All*Stars. Cameron Bancroft was named in the 12-man squad too.
Fast bowling duo Nathan Coulter-Nile and Joel Paris were voted in to the One-Day All*Stars after their fine performances in WA’s triumphant Matador One-Day Cup.
