Scorchers confirm squad ahead of Challenger Final

Beth Mooney will hoping to carry on her brilliant form so far in WBBL|09, with the classy-left hander finishing the regular season as the leading run-scorer with 539 at 53.90 including five half-centuries and a century in her 14 innings.

Her efforts with the bat saw her crowned the winner the BKT Golden Cap Award and earned her selection in the WBBL Team of the Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. 

English batter Amy Jones remains unavailable for selection after suffering a calf injury while batting against Melbourne Stars last Wednesday night.

The Challenger Final marks Nat Sciver-Brunt’s final appearance in WBBL|09, with the English star set to join her international teammates ahead of a multi-format series against India.

Following the weekend’s results, The Scorchers have secured second spot on the WBBL|09 ladder and the right to host the Challenger Final tomorrow night.

 The Scorchers finished with eight wins from their 14 regular season matches and will host either Brisbane Heat or Sydney Thunder for a spot in the WBBL Final against the Adelaide Strikers at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
