Perth Scorchers School Ambassador of the Term

WA Cricket’s School Ambassador of the Term has been announced for Term Four, with Ben Matheson from Presbyterian Ladies College taking out the award

Known for his positivity and hard work, Ben actively promotes Cricket through his involvement in the running of the Cricket Australia School Programs, where his passion for the game continues to standout.

Thanks to Ben’s tireless efforts in promoting the game of cricket to kids of all ages, PLC was awarded with a SEDA college incursion in Term three, an initiative that allows the opportunity to a larger group of students to experience the much-loved game.

WA Cricket Metro North Participation Officer Elyssa Mullaley says without the contribution of School Ambassador’s like Ben, the growth of the game would stagnate.

“Ben’s love and passion for the game is there for all to see, for him to go above and beyond to promote the game of cricket is just outstanding and we thank him so much for his hard work and dedication,” she said.

“His efforts allow students to have the best possible opportunity to succeed in cricket, while being the perfect role for school teachers and junior cricket coaches.”

On top of his tireless efforts as a school teacher, he was also involved in coaching the U12 State Schoolboys when they last competed in the National Championships and reached out to WA Cricket to organise a before school pop-up for Pre-Primary to Year 2 girls to encourage them to participate in Cricket Blast programs at their local clubs.

Ben is a well-respected member within the local school community and is a deserving winner of the School Ambassador of Term Four.
