Perth Scorchers have received a significant boost in their hunt for top spot on the KFC BBL|15 ladder, with wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis set to return for tomorrow night’s sold-out clash with third-placed Melbourne Stars at Optus Stadium.
Inglis Back in Boost for Stars Clash
Inglis missed last night’s win over Melbourne Renegades at Marvel Stadium under a Cricket Australia workload management plan but returns to the 14-player squad for the final match of the home-and-away season.
The winner of tomorrow night’s encounter will finish in top spot on the ladder and host ‘The Qualifier’ on Tuesday 20 January, while the loser will be forced into ‘The Knockout’, which will be held 24 hours later. The BBL|15 ladder can be viewed here.
Only a small allocation of membership seats remain for tomorrow night’s match, meaning the Scorchers are poised to surpass their largest regular season crowd of 46,471 at Optus Stadium against Sydney Thunder in BBL|14. The Club's all-time highest attendance is 53,886 in the BBL|12 Final.
