Cameron Green, Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh have all earned their place in the squad, after impressing both domestically and internationally during the last Australian summer.
Green, who has become a regular fixture in the longest format since making his Test debut against India in 2020, will travel to the UK in fine form with the bat, after compiling his maiden Test hundred (114) against India in Ahmedabad last month.
The 23-year-old is currently playing his trade in the Indian Premier League with the Mumbai Indians, and has featured in all five matches for the franchise in the tournament.
He made his first IPL fifty against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in his most recent innings, finishing with 64 not out off 40 balls and taking 1-29 off his four overs.
Inglis has been selected on his first Test Tour, after featuring in the opening One-Day International of the recent white-ball series against India.
The dynamic wicket-keeper batter showed his versatility in red-ball cricket earlier in the summer, striking 116 off just 134 balls against Tasmania in tricky batting conditions at Blundstone Arena, his fourth first class century.
Inglis is also coming off a dominant KFC Big Bash League season for the Perth Scorchers, scoring 431 runs at 35.91 in his 15 innings, including four half-centuries.
Powerful allrounder Mitchell Marsh has also been included in the 17-player squad, with the 31-year-old a chance to feature in his first Test match since the last Ashes Tour in 2019.
Marsh made a dominant return to first-class cricket, when he smashed his way to 108 not out off just 111 balls to power WA to a convincing nine-wicket win against Tasmania at the WACA Ground. It was Marsh’s first appearance in the Sheffield Shield since April 2021.
Australia plays India at The Oval in the ICC World Test Championship final followed by Ashes Tests at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Headingly, Old Trafford and The Oval.

NSP Chair of Selectors George Bailey said:
“The World Test Championship is the culmination of more than two years of consistent performance at Test level by the team and the individuals involved, leading into an Ashes series which is always highly anticipated.
“The UK is a very different assignment from our most recent tour of India and some of the changes are based upon the conditions we are anticipating.
“Marcus, Josh and Mitch return to the squad and provide valuable depth and flexibility within their respective skillsets.
“We see value in revisiting the squad following the second Ashes Test given the short turnaround between the WTC final and the first Ashes Test, along with the length of the tour.”
Australia plays India in the World Test Championship at the Oval from June 7-11 before moving to the first Ashes Test against England at Edgbaston from June 16-20.
