Hoskin Around For Two More Years

Exciting swing bowler Ebony Hoskin will remain with Perth Scorchers until at least the end of the Weber WBBL|12 season, signing a two-year extension with the Club she joined last year.

The right-armer left a lasting impression during her maiden campaign in orange, playing every game of the Scorchers’ WBBL|10 campaign.

Asked to bowl at all stages of the innings, Hoskin’s versatility was particularly impressive, as was her ability to bowl under pressure.

This was on full display during a standout performance against eventual champions Melbourne Renegades at the WACA Ground in November, when Hoskin defended eight runs in the game's final over to secure her side a thrilling two-run victory.

Energetic and competitive, the 22-year-old will now spend the whole year with WA Cricket, having moved from New South Wales to WA ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season.

Hoskin joins Sophie Devine (contracted until the end of WBBL|11), Amy Edgar (WBBL|11), Mikayla Hinkley (WBBL|11), Alana King (WBBL|12), Beth Mooney (WBBL|12) and Chloe Ainsworth (WBBL|12) on the list for WBBL|11.

Reflecting on her contract extension with the Scorchers, Hoskin said:

“My first season with the Scorchers was an incredible experience, and I’m really excited to be back in the orange and hopefully help bring a couple of trophies home," she said.

“I learned a lot last season and I’m really proud that the team have backed me in to perform on the big stage.

“I’m looking forward to making Perth my home, getting stuck in at the WACA Ground and immersing myself into the WA Cricket setup.”

Quotes attributable to WA Cricket General Manager – High Performance Cricket & Elite Teams, Kade Harvey:

“We were impressed by Ebony during her first season with us last year.

“The composure and maturity Ebony showed bowling the 20th over against the Renegades, when she successfully defended eight runs, says a fair bit about her character. She’s a competitor who isn’t afraid of new challenges or big moments.

“Ebony is now part of the WA program as well as the Scorchers, so we look forward to working closely with her in the coming years.”
