Fixtures Announced! Scorchers to Fire up WBBL|11

Perth Scorchers will once again feature on opening day of the eleventh edition of the Weber Big Bash League at home against old foes, Sydney Sixers.

Released this morning, the fixtures have the Scorchers featuring regularly in marquee timeslots while three of the Scorchers’ four WACA Ground home games fall on the weekend.

After tackling the Sixers at home to finish a bumper triple header on November 9, the Scorchers will hit the road for their first leg of travel.

Landing in the sunshine state for a fiery clash with Brisbane Heat on Wednesday 12 November, Scorchers then host a ‘home’ game against Melbourne Stars in Adelaide (Friday 14 November), play Adelaide Strikers in Melbourne (Sunday 16 November) and meet Sydney Thunder in Sydney (Wednesday 19 November).

Saturday 22 November shapes as an enormous day for WA’s cricket-loving public, who can stroll straight from Day Two of the NRMA Insurance Ashes Test at Perth Stadium to the WACA Ground afterparty, where the Scorchers will take on the Strikers – star recruit Katie Mack’s old side.

A stint on the road against Melbourne Renegades (Thursday 27 November in Melbourne) and Hobart Hurricanes (Saturday 29 November in Hobart) rounds out the Scorchers regular season travel schedule, before two blockbusters at home.

The first will see the Scorchers pit themselves against defending champions Melbourne Renegades (Tuesday 2 December) before taking on Brisbane Heat (Saturday 6 December) in their final fixtured clash.

Three Scorchers games will be simulcast by Channel 7 including the season-opener, with the remaining games shown on Foxtel, Kayo and cricket.com.au.

Reflecting on the fixtures Perth Scorchers General Manager Jess Keily said.

“We are thrilled to once again be involved in the opening day of the competition and showing everyone why the wild west does Big Bash the best.

“The Ashes Afterparty match is going to be a real highlight of the summer with our Members, families, fans and even the Barmy Army bringing their energy across Matagurup Bridge.

“A sea of orange filling The Furnace at the iconic WACA Ground, we can’t wait to see it.”
